Located in the southest part of Cuyutlán Lagoon, of which it belongs, with 3 exit wharves in the Tortugario, La Compuerta and Paradise Beach.
In order to arrive to this place it is necessary to have a particular car, a rented one, or to use the taxi service from the city of ArmerÃÂa.
To reach this site and use the services of boat strolls it is necessary to go to Paradise Beach or to the facilities of the Tortugario of Cuyutlán.
In the first particular case, free or quota road Colima - Manzanillo until the city of ArmerÃÂa. There will be signallings that will guide you to the road in a distance of 8 km towards the beach, and when arriving to the community, in the monitoring police booth is one of the docks or wharves.
In the second case it is necessary to get to the beach of Cuyutlán, either by free or by quota road. Once there, locate the signallings that will lead you to the facilities of the Tortugario, where is another of the wharves.
Recently, with the support of the Tourism Secretariat of Colima, three wharves were constructed in the Palo Verde Estuary with the intention of offering boat strolls to contemplate and apreciate the Estuary. The main purpose of the strolls is to give an explanation to users about the mangrove swamps and their biodiversity in order to promote and to aware its conservation, also, to support the regional development, generating a source of alternative income for the members of the community.
The mangrove swamps are constituted by trees with the capacity to withstand frequent periods of flood and wide variations of salinity. It is possible to find in this estuary two of the three existing species of mangle in the country.
An impressive ecosystem of flora and wild fauna is the scene that appears when sailing by its waters between the fascinating tunnels of mangle roots; five islets of capricious shapes, in the center the Iguanas Island, constitute the habitat of pelicans, Canadian ducks, hawks, fishing eagles, white and gray herons, between many other species of birds that with a free and rhythmic flight offer a wonderful spectacle, going sometimes even with the boats among the tunnels.
It counts with three wharves, all of them rustic wooden, located in strategic places.
The first and most important one is within the facilities of (strong) The Tortugario of Cuyutlán. (strong) It has an extension of 120 meters and runs its sinuous course by a mangle tunnel from which it is possible to observe the flora and fauna of the place. It is a memorable experience to walk there and admire the herons and aquatic birds realize its fishing activities in this site.
The second wharve is located in (strong) Paradise Beach, next to the police booth at the entrance of the town. The route can also be made from this wharf, which ends in the Tortugario of Cuyutlán and returns later to its point of departure.
The third one is located in (strong) the operations center of the members of the cooperative of fishermen, in a place denominated La Compuerta, located on the free road that communicates the cities of ArmerÃÂa and Cuyutlán, four kilometers from the latter.
